During your stay with us we can introduce you to a selection of experiences in the surrounding Rotorua area.
These include:

The Lodge can arrange fishing trips on the lake or any other lake with an experienced fisherman whether it be fly fishing or boat trolling.

See if you can catch a rainbow trout!

There are many spectacular walks around the area. Some short like the board walk around the lake edge of Okareka which will take you over wetlands that is home to many beautiful native birds.

This takes 45 to 1 hour return. There are longer walks around other lakes that your host Leigh can tell you about.

The Redwood Forest is only a 10 minute drive away and has many different walks through these magnificent trees.

The Lodge has a VW Convertible Beetle which can be hired for site seeing or going on a picnic supplied by your host at an extra cost.

Rotorua is the cultural hub of New Zealand. Maori our indigenous people showcase their history, and culture very authentically in many sites around Rotorua. We have our own very experienced guide Geoffrey Cox to take you on a guided tour of these sites at an extra cost. Its well worth it.

"This is a very well-done museum, but it was even better because of the guide our group had. His name was Geoffrey and he is a local writer/illustrator who made the whole experience come alive. We love touring museums with a guide who can bring it all to life through the stories and Geoffrey did an outstanding job of this......we could have followed him all day"

The Lodge has a small lake boat that can be hired out for a lake cruise with or without the champagne.

The lodge has 2 classic bikes that can be used to cycle the country lanes around the village.

Two kayaks are available for hire with life jackets to enjoy and discover the lake and its environs.
